The Powerpuff Girls premiered on this day twenty years ago on November 18th, 1998.

Feeling old yet? I certainly grew up with this series, and these girls were also some of the earliest characters I did fanart on Illustrator for, and they form a small part of my deviantArt.

I decided to go back to the roots and vector them the way they look as show-accurate as possible, following the original guides the animators used.

At that time I was “wow, a dude did this girly, superheroiney show, so it’s okay for me to enjoy it and damned to those to say otherwise.” Which pretty much became how I lived. I enjoyed things on my own terms, never letting the opinions of others shake-up what I liked.

Plus, c’mon. They were pretty cool.
