The Case for Jackie Lynn Thomas

Star vs. The Forces of Evil Season 3 Spoilers!

Well, I guess I’ve been here before. Oh, boy. A Pro-Starco, Jackie sympathiser has some comments. It *must* be important.

Look, I love Star and Starco’s my OTP. But man, they’re sure not making it feel good. This week’s Star vs. The Forces of Evil episodes punched a few things in the face, Queen Eclipsa and Glossaryck business aside.

As of Demoncism/Sophomore Slump, Star got a little more cosy with Tom, and Marco, well, he had a breakup initiated by Jackie. Said breakup was called so the following episode Lint Catcher, so it ain’t a break, it’s a break-up.

Which is a real shame. If Jackie x Marco truly is extinguished, we pretty much made redundant some real character building for Marco, when he mustered up the courage to confess afters years and years of trying, remember? That was so beautiful. You don’t play a season of episodes for that to come to nothing.

Sure, it was tough for Starco fans, but Jackie gave us a CHALLENGE. Jackie letting go like this seems too EASY. I mean COME ON. And now everything is uncomfortable with this love mess and we don’t know what will happen next (which, of course, adds to the intrigue of the series, no complaints there).

My first op-ed on this matter was when there was no sign of Jackie in the intro, and as the intro prophecy revealed, the episodes have moved towards Marco being a “permanent” resident of Mewni, for now. Seemed a little rash too, by the circumstances of Lint Catcher.

Will Jackie return? How is the show going to solve this, if ever?
We have another week left in this bomb. A lot of things can happen, and plenty already has. Weird. Wild.
