During the first season of Star I was directing, which on Star, means lots of drawing and editing! There were a few episodes that I was really proud to have been a part of: Mewberty, Blood Moon Ball, Mewnipendence Day and Storm The Castle.
Every episode that ends up on screen goes through a journey to arrive there. Some journeys are smooth and others are long winding roads. Mewberty was a long winding road. In fact, it originally wasn’t even titled Mewberty, but Running with Scissors (don’t worry we found a safe home for that title!) and the story had nothing to do with Star going through a metamorphosis. The version that we arrived at was written and storyboarded by Dominic Bisignano and I, the first of many episodes that we got to write and storyboard together.
One of my favorite things to do in any episode is establish a sense of mood and tone. This scene is an example of that. Can you identify what film the temp music is from?
