Why do you like MLP?
Simple answer: It was a Flash-animated show made by Lauren Faust and had Tara Strong voicing. That was enough. The colourful characters, storyline and everything else was secondary, mostly. I now enjoy the show because of the friends I made who enjoy it the same way I do.
